Small shifts. Deep roots. Open flow.
There is a word in Chinese: Tong (通). Free flow. The quiet ease of a day when your energy is steady, your mind is clear, and your body hums along without complaint. Chinese medicine has been paying close attention to that feeling for millennia: what creates it, what sustains it, and what gently restores it when life gets in the way.
Tong Living brings that wisdom into your daily life, adapted to your body, your pattern, and your pace. Grounded tools for movement, rest, food, emotion, and the seasons. No protocol to follow perfectly. Just small, well-aimed adjustments that compound over time, and a practice that is genuinely, specifically yours.
Wenjing Zhao grew up inside this tradition, studied it as a scientist, and trained as an acupuncturist. She is not here to tell you what to do. She is here to help you learn to listen to your own body, and to draw from a menu of gentle, time-tested practices when you do.

Who this is for.
You feel something is off.
Your energy, sleep, digestion, or mood isn't right, and the standard answers haven't helped.
You want to understand, not just follow.
You're looking for a framework that makes sense of your body, not another protocol to obey.
You want to take charge of your own health.
Not to replace your doctor, but to understand yourself more deeply and make better daily choices.
You're curious about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) but don't know where to start.
Intrigued, maybe sceptical, but open, and looking for something grounded, not mystical.

How this works

Most of us sense when something is out of balance. TCM gives you a language for it.
TCM has been reading the body's signals for two thousand years. Not as symptoms to suppress, but as patterns to understand. That's where we start, not with a quick fix, but with clarity.
Small adjustments, not overhauls.
Real change doesn't come from doing everything at once. It comes from finding the one thing that's slightly off, and shifting it. Then watching what moves. That's how TCM works, and it's how Tong Living is designed.
Ancient wisdom, translated, not mystified.
You don't need a background in TCM, change your worldview, or rearrange your life. The tools here are grounded, time-tested, and explained in plain language. Scepticism is welcome.

Stay Connected

If something here resonated, I'd love to stay in touch. I write when there is something worth sharing, on movement, rest, food, emotion, and the seasons. Not a newsletter in the traditional sense. More like a letter, when the season calls for it.
